Sophia Cornish, DDS
Dr. Cornish strives to make sure each patient feels heard and valued as an individual. She is dedicated to helping you achieve optimal oral health by providing you with helpful guidance and focusing on your overall health, not just your teeth and gums. Dr Cornish builds meaningful and friendly relationships with each of her patients and is passionate about her profession. In her free time, her favorite activities are spending time outside with her family, reading a good book, and eating ice cream. Dr Cornish is also an avid traveler and would love to hear about any adventures you have planned.
Taylor Chick, DDS
Dr. Chick graduated in 2022 with her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, becoming the fourth-generation dentist in her family. During her schooling, she received the Michigan Periodontal Alumni Association Award for Preventative Periodontal Excellence and enjoyed being the co-president of the American Association of Women Dentists. She loves providing oral health care and building lasting relationships with her patients. In her free time, Dr. Chick loves going on adventures with her husband and their corgi, Kirby.
Piiamari Bowers, DDS
Developing trusting relationships is important to Dr. Bowers. Patients have come to expect a genuine conversation about oral health and how it impacts their general wellness. She works diligently to make sure you have an excellent dental experience in an office where you truly feel at home.
Dr. Bowers is a Functional Oral Medicine Dentist in Dexter, Michigan. After over 20 years in dentistry, she opened Foundational Roots where she takes a whole-body, biological, and functional approach with her patients. Her dentistry, and her practice, is motivated by a compassion for healing and are grounded in science.
Dr. Bowers attended the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. She is involved in many organized dentistry groups, including the Biological Dental Association, the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology, the International Academy of Biological Dentistry and Medicine, and the American Association of Ozonotherapy.
Dr. Bowers is certified in Laser Proficiency and has taken numerous courses and training programs in sleep and airway medicine, studying orofacial myofunctional therapy. She is certified in oxygen/ozone therapy through the American College of Integrative Medicine and Dentistry, as well.
Dr. Bowers is currently attending the American College of Integrative Dentistry and Medicine, studying Biological Dental Medicine and Naturopathic Medicine, with an expected board certification date in 2025.
Dr. Bowers’ practice is underpinned by the fact that prevention is absolutely the best medicine. She wishes to share with her patients the wealth of knowledge she has attained throughout her career and hopes to motivate people to join her on a journey towards a thriving life of wellness through bite-sized changes.
Haley Lawrence, DDS
Dr. Lawrence grew up in Livonia, MI. She went on to play collegiate softball and graduated in 2022 with her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Detroit Mercy Dental.
Dr. Lawrence strives to bridge the gap between oral health and overall health. She has a passion for being proactive versus reactive for her patients and believes that uncovering the root cause of any kind of disease is very important. She believes diet and nutrition have a big impact on your oral health, in addition to your general health.
In her free time, she lifts weights to stay in shape and cuddles with her cat, Nike. She also enjoys trying unique foods at different restaurants with her fiancé.
Uuno, Bravery Assistant
A dog in the office? You better believe it! Every morning Uuno wakes up, eats a healthy breakfast, and heads to Dexter Dental Studio to serve as the official “Dental Comfort Dog.” Uuno is a Dachshund who provides an unparalleled level of joy to patients of all ages. He is the best snuggler!
Katie, Office Manager
Katie has worked at Dexter Dental Studio since 2003, she began working part-time during high school and became a certified dental assistant when she graduated. Katie works hard to assure that things run seamlessly and our patients and staff members are happy. When Katie is not at work she enjoys spending time with her partner and their 4 children.
Anne Marie, RDH
Anne Marie came to dentistry after a career change from personal training. She graduated in 2022 from the dental hygiene program at Lansing Community College. Anne Marie loves to educate patients on how to properly help keep their teeth and gums healthy.
Leslie, AAS, RDH
When you see Leslie, she will help you uncover your best health potential. She aims to tear down any past dental hurts and hang-ups to gain your trust as your holistic health partner.
Hannah, RDH
Hannah graduated from Jackson College. She decided to pursue dental hygiene because of her passion for helping others create and maintain beautiful smiles!
Kat, RDH
Meet Kat, a dedicated dental professional with a heartwarming touch. With a background encompassing six years as a dental assistant specializing in cosmetic and restorative dentistry, Kat has cultivated a wealth of experience and expertise in crafting beautiful smiles.
Mandy, RDA
Mandy is ultimately concerned with her patients’ comfort and loves talking with patients about how best to meet their needs.
Elsa, RDA
You can find Elsa greeting you at the front desk when you come in for your appointment. She is very enthusiastic about making sure patients have a great experience when they come to see us. Outside of the office, Elsa enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends and enjoying the outdoors and the lakes in the summertime!
Shae, Hygiene Assistant
Shae is our dedicated sterilization technician. He is with the practice to cut his teeth (pun absolutely intended) before heading to Boston in July, where he’ll begin his DMD studies at the Tufts University School Of Dental Medicine. Shae’s dream is to become an oral and maxillofacial surgeon.
A former personal trainer, Shae centers much of his life around macronutrient tracking and a rigorous weightlifting regimen. He has been with his lovely wife, Lauren, for over 11 years. They look forward to their next adventure in Boston.Other fun facts: Shae is a vegan, a multi-instrumentalist, a video gamer, and true crime junkie. Don’t tell his mother, but he even briefly trained to be a pro wrestler in 2015.
Sierra, Dental & Lab Assistant
Sierra has been a part of Dexter Dental Studio since 2022. She has found her groove with our 3D printer, bringing innovation to life. She loves being by the doctors’ side, making sure patients feel comfortable during their visits. Outside of work, you can find Sierra hanging out with her boyfriend and her dog, Rory, just enjoying the little things.
Jana, Insurance coordinator
Jana has spent over 10 years at Dexter Dental Studio keeping the office running efficiently and helping patients maximize their insurance benefits.
Shelby, Treatment Plan Coordinator
Shelby enjoys helping all patients, whether it be at the front desk or back in the clinic! She loves helping kids and making sure everyone is comfortable during their treatment. In her free time, Shelby enjoys spending time on the farm or in the UP snowmobiling and camping in the summer. She has a cat and loves reading and spending time with her siblings and friends!
Macy, New Patient Concierge
Macy enjoys greeting all patients who walk into our door, as well as all new patients over the phone. Macy’s main goal is to make sure every patient knows they are welcome into our office! Outside of work, she enjoys hunting, crafting, and hanging out with her four legged bestie Storm.
Desiree, LMT, and Executive Assistant
Desiree manages Dexter Dental Studio’s marketing and social media. She is behind all documentation of our team happenings, information on dental health, keeping our website up to date, and more! In addition to executive assisting, she is a licensed massage therapist of seven years. Outside of the office, Desiree enjoys cycling, skiing, rock climbing, cooking, and learning new things.
